Men urged to test for testicular cancer
SYDNEY South West Area Health Service (SSWAHS) is encouraging young men to test themselves for testicular cancer.
The service’s urological surgeon Arthur Vasilaras said testicular cancer was the second most common form of cancer in men aged between 18 and 39.
“Up to 650 Australians are diagnosed with testicular cancer every year, with about 14 deaths related to the disease,” he said.
Dr Vasilaras said warning signs of testicular cancer included enlargement or shrinking of a testicle, heaviness in the scrotum, or dull ache in the lower abdomen or groin.
